✦ Good to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "DWA" mean, and what is the theme?
DWA is named after "Duat," the ancient Egyptian realm of the sun god Ra. The ship's decor, lounges (Hat-Hor Lounge, Horus Lounge) and spa (Sekhmet Spa) are inspired by Egyptian mythology — a floating tribute to the golden age of the pharaohs.
How many cabins does M/S DWA have?
41 rooms in total: 36 Deluxe Cabins (approx. 18–20 m² each), 4 Junior Suites (approx. 28 m²), and 1 signature DWA Suite (approx. 40 m²). Maximum capacity is approximately 82 guests.
Is there a spa on board?
Yes — the Sekhmet Spa is a full-service spa with sauna, jacuzzi and professional massage treatments. A rare luxury on the Nile and a perfect end to a day of temple visits.
What is included in the cruise price?
All meals on a full-board basis (breakfast, lunch, dinner), Egyptologist-guided excursions, entrance fees to every site mentioned in the program, private transfers, and onboard evening entertainment including Galabeya party, belly dance, and Nubian folkloric show. Alcoholic beverages, gratuities, flights, the Egyptian visa and spa treatments are not included.
Which direction should I choose — Luxor to Aswan, or Aswan to Luxor?
It depends mainly on your flights. The 5-day Luxor → Aswan program departs Mondays and finishes in Aswan (ideal before flying out of Aswan or continuing to Abu Simbel). The 4-day Aswan → Luxor program departs Fridays and finishes in Luxor. Both cover the same highlights — just in reverse order and with one extra day on the 5-day route.
Do I need a visa for Egypt?
Most nationalities require a tourist visa. You can usually apply for an e-visa online before travel, or obtain a visa on arrival at major airports. Our team is happy to advise based on your nationality.
What should I pack?
Lightweight breathable clothing, a hat, sunglasses, high-factor sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes for temple visits, a swimsuit, and a camera. Add a light jacket for cooler evenings between November and February.
